Metamorphosis

In a world of green and brown
Lives a tiny caterpillar prone
To munching leaves all day and night
In a world that seems so right

But one day a change takes place
And the caterpillar starts its race
To transform into something new
A butterfly with wings of blue

No longer bound to leaves and earth
It soars high, experiencing rebirth
Its perception of the world now changed
No longer dull and pre-arranged

Seeing beyond its leafy world
Exploring skies with wings unfurled
The caterpillar’s transformation complete
Its perception now so bittersweet

For it longs to share its newfound sight
With those still crawling, without flight
To show them that there’s more to see
Beyond the leafy world they knew, so free

So let us learn from this humble creature
To look beyond our daily feature
To open our minds and change perspective
And find a world so vast and extensive
